The problem

Buyers ask an AI before they visit your site

When someone asks an AI tool which firm, product or supplier to consider, the answer is built from pages the tool can find and trusts. If your site is hard to crawl, buries its answers, or describes your business differently from page to page, you're easy to leave out.

Most of what fixes this is ordinary, well-done SEO. The rest is writing for questions rather than keywords, and measuring citations as well as clicks.

Signs this is you

  • AI tools describe your business wrongly, or name competitors instead
  • Key pages aren’t indexed, or point search engines at the wrong URL
  • Answers to common buyer questions are buried halfway down a page
  • Nobody can say whether AI search sends you anything
What we do

Four parts, in this order

SEO foundations

Pages that search engines and AI crawlers can reach, read and index.

  • Crawling, indexing and robots rules checked, including AI crawlers
  • Canonicals, sitemap and redirects that agree with each other
  • Structured data that is valid and matches the visible page
  • Page speed and mobile basics

Answer-led content

Pages that answer the questions your buyers actually ask.

  • A question bank built from sales calls, support and search data
  • A direct answer first, then the detail and the sources
  • FAQ sections kept in sync with their structured data
  • Dates and official sources on anything that changes

Entity consistency

The same facts about your business, wherever it is described.

  • One name, description and list of services, used everywhere
  • Organization data on your site matched to your profiles
  • Service and location claims that are true and current
  • No conflicting old pages left live

Measurement

A baseline first, then the same checks on a schedule.

  • Search Console and analytics set up to separate AI traffic where they can
  • A fixed set of buyer questions asked in each AI tool
  • Mentions, citations and linked pages logged over time
  • A short report: what changed, and what didn't

We re-run the checks on a schedule, keep new pages to the same standard, and report what changed.

What you get

Deliverables, not just a plan

  • A technical SEO audit with fixes in priority order
  • A question bank built from your buyers’ real questions
  • Answer-led page outlines, or the rewritten pages
  • One agreed set of business facts and structured data to match
  • A baseline and a repeatable measurement sheet
Who it's for

Is this the right fit?

Businesses whose buyers research before they get in touch, and whose site is the main place they explain what they do. If the basics aren’t in place yet, such as a fast site, a working domain email and analytics, start with Digital foundations.

FAQ

Common questions about AI search optimisation

What is AI search optimisation?

Making your site easy for AI search tools such as Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, ChatGPT search, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot to find, understand and cite. It is also called answer engine optimisation (AEO) or generative engine optimisation (GEO). Most of the work is good SEO: pages that can be crawled and indexed, clear answers to real questions, and consistent facts about your business.

Is it different from SEO?

Mostly no. Google says there are no extra requirements and no special optimisation needed to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode: a page must be indexed and eligible to show a snippet. What changes is emphasis: direct answers near the top of a page, facts that match everywhere your business is described, and measuring citations as well as clicks.

Can you guarantee we'll be cited by ChatGPT or Google AI Overviews?

No, and nobody can. Each AI tool decides what to show and the answers change from one query to the next. We improve the things you control, measure the results against a baseline, and report what changed, including when it didn't.

Do we need an llms.txt file or special schema?

Not for Google, which says no new AI-specific files or markup are needed to appear in its AI features. llms.txt is a community proposal that some AI tools may read; we can add one if you want it, but we don't count on it. Structured data still helps search engines understand your pages, so we keep it valid and matched to what's visible.

How do you measure AI search visibility?

Three ways. Search Console, where Google counts AI Overviews and AI Mode traffic in the Performance report. Analytics, for visits from AI tools that pass a referrer. And a fixed list of real buyer questions, asked in each AI tool on a set schedule, logging whether you're mentioned or cited and which page is linked.
